Emergency Fuel Assistance Program begins November 1, 2023. It is a program for once-a-season fuel assistance of $780.
In order to be eligible, an individual needs to:
For assistance with gas or electric heat, a shut-off notice is required.To apply, contact the Northampton County Information & Referral Emergency Services at 610-559-3270 or 610-829-4800.When a referral is received, a Northampton County Area Agency on Aging staff person will schedule a home visit to determine eligibility.

The purpose of the Area Agency on Aging is to plan and coordinate the provision of services to the OLDER ADULTS in Northampton County.These services, delivered directly, purchase of service from a community agency, or by cooperative agreement, are designed to enhance the independence and dignity of older adults, and to provide protection as well.
The Area Agency on Aging serves residents of Northampton County who are 60 years of age or older. No distinction is made on the basis of race, color, nationality, creed, sex or income. The Area Agency on Aging is an Affirmative Action Employer and Provider.
The Advisory Council of the Northampton County Area Agency on Aging recognized sixteen (16) older adults with the 2023 Outstanding Senior Award. These individuals contributed their time and talents for the benefit of others in our community through outreach, personal action, inspiration, public service, sports/educational efforts and civic humanitarian endeavors. Their passion for helping others is evident through their actions and the inspiration they provide.
